Decisions Decisions

So I apparently have some decisions that I need to start thinking about. It's something that at 23 I wasn't ready to think about. I know eventually that I am going to have to face it, I just was really surprised that today was the day I needed to start thinking about it. I'm terrified of making the wrong choice.

Sunny Days

Today was one of those days that you are just grateful for looking back on it. This morning while E was in the shower I made him waffles in my overly messy kitchen, closing my eyes when I had to look at the pile of dishes in the sink. As we enjoyed our breakfast my dear husband, who is at times more like a 7 year old, watched cartoons. I cleaned the guest room up after my dad was here the other night and started some laundry, which I still need to finish. E left for work and I cleaned the kitchen, boy it was a mess. It feels great to have a super clean kitchen now! I jumped as I heard the door open, E was back. There was a LN leak at his work and it was not safe to be there. So we laid in the floor watching some TV, played Monopoly City and just enjoyed our morning. We decided to go out to lunch and enjoy a bit of sun. Walked through a furniture store that is going out of business to see if there was anything my brother could use for his new house and then we walked through Lowe's looking at things we don't need and can't afford. But it was fun just to window shop. Over all it was a wonderful day!

Lilacs and Tulips

My father in law is a man of many talents, one of my favorites of his talents is gardening. He even coordinated the color of the lilac tree with the tulips that are under it.

Baby Afghan

I just made my first baby afghan for my sweet friend K and her baby girl. I'm pretty proud of it!

Relay for Life Yard Sale!

My mom's office has done Relay for Life the last couple of years. They always have a big yard sale about a month before to raise money for donating to Relay. This year they raised $838 dollars in sales plus around $500 in raffle ticket sales. Here are some pictures.

Granny's China

I recently inherited E's grandmother's China. It is the Chambord pattern by Limoges. I am in love!

Oatmeal Toffee Cookies

This recipe comes from The Cookie Bible. It is absolutely excellent.

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 package Heath Bits'O Brickle Almond Toffee or Skor English Toffee Bits
1 cup Coconut Flakes(Optional)

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well blended. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; beat until blended.

2. Stir in oats, toffee and coconut, if desired with spoon. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet.

3. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for a minute and move to cooling rack.

The original recipe says about 4 dozen, I think it makes more like 3.

Kitty and Tacos

So Mister decided that after E finished his dinner that he needed to keep me company while I finished mine!

Reflective Blessings

Do you ever have those moments were you simply are reflective on life? I feel like I have them often, and I use them as moments to count my blessings. They normally happen in quiet moments. The moments when I roll over and see E sound asleep just before I close my eyes. Right when I curl up in my big wonderful bed to read a book. In these moments I always say a little prayer to God, and thank Him for the goodness in my life, all the little blessings he has given me.

So when you find those quiet moments, reflect and be thankful.

Patio Garden

E and I love plants, and living in an apartment makes having a garden hard. So we resolved to have some potted plants. We have tulips, daffodils that should come up soon, new fluffy rose like flowers in pink and white and a rosemary bush.

Gratefullness and Saturday Mornings

Well another week has come and gone. I have two big things due next week for school and E is busy with work. But today we rest, well for the moment.

Last night we had pizza and went bowling. Needless to say I should probably sign up for bowling lessons. I didn't score over a 50 in any of the three games we played. I am willy nilly with my ball placement according to my husband, the good bowler. But we had fun! We are thinking about making it a monthly thing.

So far today we woke up and laid in bed talking for a while, until wild kitty monster decided that we needed to get up and feed him! We have had waffles for breakfast and are getting ready to head to the farmer's market.

My tulips are finally blooming! I will have to post pictures later today. I also plan on writing about our Easter.

Have a happy Saturday!

Playing Tourist

Yesterday I played Tourist on my way up to visit my Mom. Where we live there is a herd of Tulle Elk, and as many times as I have seen them, I have never stopped. I have never stopped to enjoy. I have never stopped to take in the view, to photograph the Elk. Yesterday I did. It was beautiful.
