My Mom

Go cousin Go!

My cousin is one of my best friends. We have been friends since birth, and several of the things I have done in my life are because of her; potty training( I wanted to do what ever she did), dance, and piano.

She is taking her certification test to be an Occupational Therapist on Thursday and is a little nervous. She is a rock-star and I know she will do awesome!

Rain Drops

I love the rain. I love waking up in the middle of the night and hearing the rain fall and hit against the windows. I wake up happy when I have heard the rain falling in the night.

Proud Big Sister Moment

My little(but much bigger than me) brother had some big decisions to make this week. We talked a bit and he made a decision to early and then was thankfully able to fix it. Its a good think and I am so happy for him!

Treatments and Wigs!

So Tuesday Mom's new wig came. I haven't seen it yet but I know the one we ordered it cute, just need to see the color in person and on my mom. But I do know she is happy with it. And today her cell count was good and they were able to do all of the treatments! YAY!!!

Sunshine and Daffodils

Daffodils are my favorite flower in the whole wide world, at least during the spring! E's parents live on what was an old settlement ranch in our hometown. Daffodils line the hill side in the spring.

Hair No More!

So mom has been loosing hair for the last few weeks, a strand at a time. Tuesday it started coming out in clumps and it was frustrating her. Can you imagine? Last year she lost her hair, it wasn't until late August that she started not wearing her wing to work. And now its falling out again. So we solved that problem today. Today I shaved my mom's head. It was something I was sure I could do without emotions getting in the way. I was wrong. Yesterday when we talked about it I thought I would be fine. Last night I was thinking it was easier to think she wasn't as sick with hair. But I was shocked today when I shaved it off. She looked healthier without hair! And she was happier too! She told my dad and I that the hair felt like she was caring around something dead on her head. She looked so great when I left today!

Tears, Time, and Thankfulness

This morning I read a blog article by a wife of a Marine. Her husband died in Afghanistan on March 14th. They have a little baby that is not even 6 months old yet. I was in tears as I read her blog. My heart is breaking for her and her little girl.

And yet in the midst of reading this and feeling heart broken for her, I am thankful that my husband is no longer an AD Marine, that my chances going through this in this manner are now gone. It makes me remember to tell my husband everyday and several times a day that I love him, that I am grateful for our life together. I am grateful that he served but I am grateful that his service is done.

A Little Pink in a World of Camo, my heart goes out to you and you are in my prayers. I hope God brings you some comfort soon.

Birthday Ski Trip

E and I love Homewood Ski Resort and recently discovered that you ski free on your birthday. So yesterday was my birthday so we packed up the night before and got up yesterday to drive up and go skiing. We only skied half the day because its spring ski and it was getting a little mushy. We went to our hotel and hung out until we went to dinner at Hard Rock at Harvey's on the state line. It was such a fun trip.

Husband

So I always knew my husband was amazing but this last week he has been even more wonderful! I was visiting my parents over the weekend and I came home to a beautifully cleaned house. He left chicken out so that we could cook it for dinner and put it in the laundry room so that Kitty couldn't get it. Well kitty got a piece and ate it ALL! E was not happy about it.

While I was gone he bought my birthday present. Its wrapped in Christmas paper, he didn't think it was important to buy other paper.

He bought tickets to see Chicago on Saturday for my birthday and are going skiing next week too. I have been feeling really guilty about everything he has planned because we didn't do much for his birthday.

I really love him so much!
